I'm tough. I'm a Spartan!
Ever since July, I have been running more and more from 1 mile to now, 5 miles. I definitely came a long way. I started running because I unknowingly signed up for one of the toughest and hardest obstacle race - Spartan Super, which was a 8 miles with 20+ obstacles in a muddy forest. Not only I couldn't run then, I didn't have enough upper body strength to do any of the obstacles. It was too late to train upper body, so I decided to run.
The Spartan Race was the hardest and craziest thing I have ever done in my life. I only needed courage to skydive; I was not in control. However, the Spartan Race, I needed more than just courage. I needed determination and faith, of course muscles and strength, to complete the course.
I slipped and fell at least ten times because of the slippery mud. My shoe was full of mud when running. I had to slide down and run back up the muddy slopes, pulling tree branches for support. I was stuck in the sinking mud and I almost lost my shoe in it. A friendly stranger pulled me up from the mud and picked my shoe up. I fell from an inclined wall while climbing over with help of others; flat back to the ground. I struggled crawling and climbing up from the muddy slope from the water. I was able to climb up an inclined wall with knotted ropes and climb over the second last wall of the race. Ran and jumped over the fire toward the finishing line was the most rewarding thing ever.
