time to say goodbye~
Yesterday was my last day at Facing Forward as a life coach. I really enjoyed working with these ladies in the past year. They always said they learned a lot from us when we helped them with achieving their goals and improving their lifestyle. But actually, I learned even more from them every week when they told me about their lives and their struggles in doing something. Back then, I would be like "come on, why can't you do that for your health? What is so difficult?" but I learned everyone has different circumstances and reasons why they can't do particular things. It might sound like an excuse and they likely are, but figuring why they are doing what they do and looking for their motivation are so important.
In the middle of the year, I was fed up with the attitude of these ladies and sometimes I felt that they didn't feel appreciative of the things that life coaches did. I wanted to give up and just quit, given that I had a lot of my plate and quitting would give me more time to focus on school, rotation and myself. However, I am glad I didn't because I definitely wouldn't have grown as much as I did if I quit. I won't be as empathetic as I am now if I didn't stick with it. I am glad I've stuck through it because I do enjoy going every week and learning something new from the program.
I will definitely miss these ladies and their energy (sometimes!) :)
