after staff relief...

Today marks the last day of my staff relief at SICU and 9S (gen med floor). This has been one of the best experience I've ever had. Thinking how I was nervous and scared during the first week, was getting help from my colleagues, slowly getting comfortable and by third and forth week, I was very confident that I handled both floors on my own. Seeing 20- 24 (max) patients per day became easier everyday.

The preceptors always said you will learn so much from staff relief and I never believed because how much can you learn in 4 weeks. They were right. I had learned so much! I learned to pick up cues much faster on rounds and in the chart to see what was important and pertain to nutrition.

I had 3-4 patients were there throughout my whole rotation. And the most amazing thing is seeing my ECMO patient weaning off ECMO, hopefully he will get better.

I will miss my patients and definitely this clinical experience.
