Day 235-Day236: JWong's visit (1)

A Must Do Shot/Reflection 

This week just flew by. I guess the Chinese saying of "Happy times always pass by very quickly" (快樂的時光過得特別快) is very true! I am super happy that jwong had kept her promise and actually came to visit me, and I'm sooooo glad that the weather in Madison didn't suck.

In Chicago, some places you just had to go are:
Millennium Park, Hancock Tower/ Sears Tower (either one allows you to see the great view of Chicago), Navy Pier (where you feel so peaceful and calm looking at Lake Michigan with the seagulls), Michigan Avenue (where you can shop till you drop).

The Must See Bean

The Purple Pig is one of the best restaurants in the United States! We tried bone marrow spread and pig shoulder. It was our first time trying the bone marrow and it was oily and tasteless -- interesting? The sides and sauce added with the bone marrow made the dish better and more flavorful. The pork shoulder is the most popular main course. The mashed potato along with the pork shoulder was delicious! I'm not a big fan of mashed potato, but this was amazing. It just melted in your mouth, but doesn't feel oily and slimy at all! I found it funny that I liked the side more than the pork shoulder. To me the pork shoulder was a bit too salty, but I enjoyed the sauce anyhow.

We went up to Hancock Tower to see the view. We wait till the sun sets and it was an amazing feeling to watch the sun set. I haven't seen a sun set for a while and I just felt so calm and peaceful, like owning my time and not feeling rushed or out of time (it's a rare feeling to have).

I also brought jwong to my future grad school and she was so impressed and so proud of me, like a proud mama! :) She kept saying it's like grey's anatomy haha but too bad I ain't becoming a surgeon. And on Hancock Tower, we spotted my grad school RUSH!

 To me, a must go place is Outdoor Cafe where my favorite ice cream parfait is! Every time I introduce this parfait to people, they are always happy and satisfied. This time is not an exception either! Look at how happy we are!
