DiSC
Yesterday we had the department orientation!
We did a personality/ leadership style test called DiSC. It is spot on! I am a super S i.e. sensitive, sweet, supportive, selfless - just want the best for everyone and everything. I'm a slight C i.e.-cautious, Conscientious. It's interesting to learn about yourself and others so you can adopt and adapt to other people's personality; thus, making communication easier and more understandable.
A supervisor had an interesting story about her coworker and herself. Her coworker is a C and she is a I/D. When the coworker kept asking questions, the supervisor took it like why is she challenging/ questioning her ability. In the end, the supervisor understood that the personality/leaderhsip style of the coworker is a C which wants every details and information possible. Therefore, the supervisor didn't take things personally and now work great in a team.
Not having a strong characteristic of dominance/demanding doesn't mean you are not or can't be a leader. There are leaders in the DiSC. Apparently our FNS director is a S like me! Of course, there is some DISC in you and some show in certain situations. I always pressure myself to be more outgoing and talkative. Even though I should continue to pressure myself, I should not become stress over it. My personality will shine through no matter what :)
Don't settle for mediocre; strive for the best :)
