New Year, New Post!
Happy 2016!
This year is my first time spending new years away from home, family and friends, which was a whole new experience! Roomie and I went to a bougie hotel party in Chicago, which was a lot of fun and weird. To me, once is enough! I'd still loved to count down outdoors with people, but if only the weather allows in Chicago, of course. What were the firsts of 2016?
First kiss: Roomie (no choice :P, but she didn't kiss me first!!!)
First person I saw: Roomie
First meal: Chi cafe, 2 fried man taos (I thought it was dim sum! Thanks bf's friends for inviting me to their NY lunch)
First happy new year: a bunch of random strangers!
First time ever that I am starting a new year as an adult with real responsibilities! Even though this year has not started out the way I wanted it to be, this year will be better than last year! When I think of the accomplishments I did, I'm not sure why I thought last year was horrible. I accomplished a lot- graduated master's (never thought of that), passed the RD exam, found a job, traveled to a lot of places, found an apartment, new relationships! I guess it's the process of getting there was stressful and the things that happened in between made me thought it was a bad year. Now that I think about it, 2015 might be hard to beat.
2016 will be the real challenge to life... a life without concrete plans. I already had a small (maybe?) mental breakdown with this challenge. Keep in mind that I don't need to have everything figured out. Take one step at a time and I will be okay. What do I enjoy? What do I like to do? Time to figure out when I have the time now!
Something that I want to do but very hesitate to start because I am scared that I won't keep up is a travel and food blog. Putting the two things I like into words will be difficult because I have limited vocabs, but I will try. I went to many places last year and it's time to do something with it, especially with the NZ trip. Make a new blog, once or every other week, update it!
Some other goals that I put into my google keep:
1) Read AND magazine twice a week- two articles per week
2) Look for a temple/ center for Buddhism/ Goddess of Mercy
3) get fit and ready for volleyball in the summer!
4) find a volleyball team in the summer... Meet up?
