I GOT INTO PA SCHOOL WHAT WHAT
Yesterday at 10AM, I received a call from 630 area code (Downers Grove). I had been getting many scam calls so I didn't think this would be something. It turned out to be MIDWESTERN! Omg, they pulled me off the waitlist and offered me a seat in their program!!! Within two hours in the morning, I was accepted to Midwestern PA program and resigned from my job. I couldn't be happier. I was crying. My hands were shaking.
First, I told my diet office friends. Some of them were crying, sad to see me leave but of course, happy for me that I am going back to school! At rounds, I spread the news to the ICU team and the attending who wrote my recommendation letter. He made a comment that he would hire me after I graduate, and then he offered to pay for my tuition if I work for him for 5 years after I graduate. I mean, of course, jokingly, but then he got me lunch. I feel so lucky to have a great support system in Chicago and in the US. People were so happy for me. They even see success in me. I'm overwhelmed with the love and support I received.
Things happen for a reason. And things always work out in the end as long as you don't lose your hope and motivation! I'm so thankful for my ex dietetic friend (now PA student). She was the one who sparked this PA idea in my head when I was considering NP or med school. I'm so thankful for my ex manager. She was the one who motivated me and kept pushing to achieve, wrote my other recommendation letter, and was flexible with me taking classes, volunteering and traveling. I'm also thankful for my sister who always helped me with my personal statement (this time and the last time for my other internship too). I'm so thankful for my bf who always supported me in this and always believed in me. He was like I knew you would get in, you overqualified candidate hahaha! Thank you and everyone who were nothing, but just so supportive and encouraging.
This still doesn't feel real. I had to read the acceptance email again to make sure it is NOT a dream.
