Foodservice rotation - retail: CHECK!
Today is our last day at foodservice rotation on the retail side. In these three weeks, we have built some relationship with the employees; a little bit more than just hi and bye. I really enjoyed working with everyone in the rotation. I have a better understanding on foodservice... like understand why the employees are slow in serving, the food are not replenish on time... it's interesting. I had learned so much in accounting and financials for this area - everything is about check and balance!
Sometimes you never know where life takes you... and I am open to foodservice management now.
Side note: my Asian Quinoa Salad did pretty well in selling with or without sampling.
Yesterday we did sampling for our group's salad... and during out sampling, an orthopeadic surgeon said "you guys finally got promoted from Costo". How humiliating... Sometimes just one comment can really ruin your day, and sometimes one comment can make all the difference. It's okay because not all of them are as mean as that. Some people are nice enough to stop and take the time to talk to us about our projects and menu. He should be embarrassed by what he said as we work for the same hospital.
