Day 69: Happy 4th of July! RED, BLUE and WHITE

This is my first time spending Independence day in the United States. Milena and I planned to go to the Trinity lake where they have river floating and fireworks. We totally forgot to check the holiday bus schedule so we waited under the sun for almost an hour!! In the mean time, two black guys came up to us and ask about us. After the first time we got "hit" on at bdubs, we had this plan that we say we are Kelly and Rebecca who are from Nebraska! LOL didn't know we would get to use this plan... After successfully shoo them away, Milena got pooed by bird HAHa so much for being under the shades ehhhh?!

Geared up for July 4th- RED AND BLUE!
After waiting for the bus for an hour, we finally made it to the Trinity River! This is where they have the fireworks at night and let people float on rivers! Milena and I floated on the Trinity River! The river was kind of muddy and dirty, but it was worth it! When can you ever float on rivers? It was very relaxing and chill. Also, we got to listen to AC/DC band played! Apparently they are pretty famous! The music and atmosphere were just AWESOME!

Thank you Ft Worth!

AC/DC was playing :)

after floating on the river... wet and tanned
I guess I'm very used to watching fireworks on TV. It is almost impossible to watch fireworks LIVE from the harbor in Hong Kong because it is just way crowded. This is my first time watching firework celebration this close, just across the river. I could even feel the heat of the fireworks.

IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! Don't get me wrong... Hong Kong's firework shows are more special and creative with shape of 8, hearts, gold and red and some cheesy songs. The difference is that being live in person and on TV. When you see the fireworks were dropping upon you, you just want to reach for the sparks. Also, having a crowd (THOUSAND of PEOPLE) with you WOW-ing together and appreciating the beauty of the celebration really helps with the mood and atmosphere as a whole!  I never thought it would be this amazing and exciting with a crowd. When Katy Perry's Firework was on, everyone sang along!

A few times, some things exploded with fire across the river! Regardless if it's on purpose or not, it was still very thrilling!! I guess it was that unity of celebrating together for the same thing touches me... It was a day that Americans being thankful and appreciative of the country than complaining about the policy and such.

4th of July Fireworks!
You might have seen lots of fireworks in the air before... but how about from the bridge?
It's special :)

WOW :)
Sorry fire fighters! We set the place on fire. It was worth it :)
