Day 10: Mifflin
"The crowd. The mob. And being able to be belligerently drunk under the eyes of the cops, to be blunt."
For those who don't know what Mifflin is, Mifflin Block Party is a tradition of Madison where students go on Mifflin street and start drinking recklessly. Usually alcohol cannot be seen in public; we are not allowed to stand on the streets with alcohol in our hands. However, this Mifflin block party is an "excuse" for people to do that, or even worse, do whatever they want. The anything-can-happen attitude is scary; what if people jump off the balcony, what if people crash into a car?

I've always heard of Mifflin. Sometimes I want to go and experience what is Mifflin... but all my friends who went said the white people are very racist. They would say things like Go back to Japan, or Can't you open your eyes. That doesn't really bother me because that just shows how insensitive and stupid these people are. The reckless and inconsiderate drinking had stopped me from going or supporting this annual tradition. Drunk is not an excuse for you to be whoever you want, and do whatever you want.
