Day 35: Day 4 in NC

W. Franklin St: The main street at Downtown Chapel Hill
Woke up at 10 and went to UNC with Cho and her roommates. I went to the library for an hour to work on my online class while waiting for them. Hmm, didn't get much done so need to do more later!

After lunch, we went to Carolina Inn for high tea. We had to wonder around before it was time for our reservation. When I first walked into the Inn, I felt like I was back in the 1920s/ 1950s (just back in the days lol). You would see furniture with pink floral patterns, which is very rare in modern days. I consider floral pattern old fashioned, but these aren't. Instead, they looked very classy and high class.

Carolina Inn

Where should I start with Carolina Inn's high tea? I only had high tea three times. I always think that high tea is more like an experience than the quality of the food. Of course, if the food is good, then that's a plus; if not, then the experience is good enough! The bite-size food is good, but I won't give it a WOW. The only things that I like from this high tea are the scones, spreads and the tea (they are all not in this picture). I usually don't like scones because they are very buttery and powdery (from my experience), but these ones are solid and not oily. I like how it doesn't make a mess, so you wouldn't look clumsy with all the bits and pieces surrounding your lips. I liked the tea - white tea, called Moonlight & Roses. It is dainty white tea blushing with fragrant petals. I'm not an expert in tea, so I wouldn't know the different types of tea. However, for sure that it is my first time trying white tea. At first, I thought it's some typical tea, which that typical taste (you know lol), but actually it has some sweetness in the end. It got better after I added one brown sugar cube. The cube had really brought out the sweetness of the white tea.

High tea :)

Please bare with my intended description of the food :)
