Day 48: Day 8 in MOWI
I finally did my site visit training -- basically go to the distribution sites (MOWI has 45 sites) and take the temperature of the meal every 20 minutes. It is the food safety regulation that we strictly need to follow. Usually they just need to do it once a month, but the regulation changed recently to we need to check every distribution site throughout the year. As the project manager, I will determine who will go to which distribution site and when does this need to be done.
Basically, we need to check meal and beverage report against cooler tapes, check temperature every 20 minutes, record the pick up time of route and fill in a checklist of the packaging of the meals. If we see anything, then we can make some comment about it. The best part is we need to do quality check as well, so that's an excuse for us to "eat" the food.
At the site, a old man who is the site volunteer was grumpy, but he would suddenly stand up and tell us jokes. He was so cute! I never had these kind of interaction with my grandpas, so I really enjoyed those moment.
Jacquonna came over and updated me about this lady that we were supposed to visit on Monday but we did not get a chance to because her son was not home and she was bed bound. Today, Jacquonna told me that the son was found dead in the house (?). Jacquonna did tell me it's odd his son was not home on Monday because he would usually open the door for us. I just wonder if his son was actually there on Monday, but he couldn't answer the door because...or he would leave the door unlocked for some reasons. I don't want to think about it. Maybe if we were more persistent in getting into the house, things might change... Thing just comes so suddenly that sometimes you don't know how to handle it. I don't even know what to say... - Also Sotear went over the completed first draft of the cycle menu. I gave her a Veggie recipe which is Meat Loaf. I thought it was a great one to add on with its high protein and fiber content.
- Finished one part of a project which is to plan a diet with all the nutrition requirements under $5. The next step is to find brands/food that would make my plan a success!! I need to visit a grocery store ;)
